NGEE ANN POLYTECHNIC, STAFF

In 2019, we tailored a private learning journey for Ngee Ann Polytechnic lecturers. Their programme was focused on learning about Singapore’s banking ecosystem for migrant workers, in an effort to collaborate with the Migrant Workers Centre (MWC) on educating the migrant workers about their banking options.

Their programme included dialogue sessions with our partner NGO, SG Accident Help Centre, and their network of migrant workers. The programme provided the participants with new insights on how migrant workers manage their finances and the structure of remittance back to their home countries. The lecturers then worked closely with their Banking & Finance and ICT students on a new DBS Bank app to serve the banking needs of migrant workers. This app was called Jolly, and has been introduced to the workers in dormitories.
